How we started

Our journey to creating Coastal Retreat began with a lot of exploring, around 15 different holiday parks across Cornwall and Devon, to be exact!

We wanted somewhere that truly ticked all the boxes: an unbeatable location, easy access to local attractions, and close proximity to stunning beaches and scenic coastal walks. When we discovered Hoburne Devon Bay, we instantly knew it was the one.

As a family with both a toddler and a teenager, we needed somewhere versatile — a place that offered fun and freedom for all ages. The on-site facilities gave us exactly that balance: family-friendly entertainment for the little ones and safe independence for the older kids as they grow.

We decided to rent out our family holiday home privately to give others that same home from home experience we value so much. With Sarah’s background as a hospitality manager, our focus has always been on thoughtful touches, comfort and a standard of cleanliness that exceeds expectations.

Every detail has been considered for families in Coastal Retreat, from including towels and linen (with no hidden costs) to providing baby essentials like a travel cot, bed guard, highchair and baby bath for those travelling with infants. Our goal is simple: to make your stay as relaxing, easy and enjoyable as possible, with all the warmth and convenience of home, by the sea!

As of April 2026, we’ve taken on the management of our neighbouring accommodation, which offers a spacious and welcoming stay - ideal for couples or families with older children. This accommodation sleeps up to 4 guests, with a sofa bed available to accommodate an additional 2. The property consists of a double bedroom with en suite, a twin bedroom with two single beds, a separate fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a cosy lounge with fireplace and large TV - perfect for relaxing after a day away.

Between both accommodations, we can now accommodate 12 guests - perfect for larger families or multiple families wanting a combined break.
